Currently working on a project of mine that includes World Creation and Fantasy, still working on the races for this fantasy world before i begin on the art concepts and then move on to the plot. Aside from that i have 2 published books and one still in review. Really excited to see how it turns out!

Welll........ difficult to answer. I have an idea that I've been working with on and off for several years that I keep restarting and changing, usually stopping after a bit, and I'm not technically actively writing but do consider myself an amateur writer, and don't actually intend to do anything with my writing; I just write for fun, when and if I feel like it, for me rather than for anybody else...... As far as I know, what I write is technically "original" but then again there's the phrase "There is nothing new under the sun" which essentially means two people might say something the same way, or write it the same way, but how they got there is two very different paths.... So, I suppose, yes and no to am I an amateur writer; I used to do more forum-based full-forum-setting roleplays, too, but I've basically dropped out of writing for the moment, though I'm still working on the next revisions I might never actually start, as I'm able to keep it all in my head. What I write tends to be very boring and not that great, though, as I would assume.

I know that feeling

I think part of my motivational problem is this, in my opinion/based on my observations: I'm only going to write when I want to, what I want, for myself more than anything. But. There's part of me that wants others to read it, and enjoy reading it. But. The things I write tend to be several "pages" long, I consider to be rather boring, have no consistent "Release day", and as they go onward there's no major plot development that I know of; it just keeps going and going and going with no clear progression that I know of. Plus, mostly I just have people talking, and there's a hugeish amount of mechanics and how things work to go into that clogs up the reading. Plus, I only know so much, and so can only draw on what I know, so based on my lack of experience there's only so many things I can write about or make up off the top of my head. It's the idea of "multiple writers make the story better, but too many spoils it all." Plus, I'm not sure, but I think most of my characters wind up having similar-ish personalities, but I'm not sure about that, and I'm not quite sure how to fix an issue like that. On a side note, there was once or twice when I was really very bored and wrote something a bit more "adult". Somebody I know got ahold of it, read it, and told me I should write "adult things" more often. I probably shouldn't like that, but I can't help feeling a bit of pride that somebody liked something that I wrote. Of course, it happened years ago, so I suppose that means I'm dwelling on "past glories" instead of trying to move forward and that's a dangerous trap to fall into.

I love writing, i'm just way too anxious to show people my work. Albeit most of the time my work is just for myself as a sort of motivational pat-on-the-back, but i'd really like to someday feel confident enough to show people what I can do.

Well many people need proofreaders and feedback givers, so you'll have such company here if you need it.

I'm a little similar. I've never showed anybody my stuff, but I've always wanted to have someone give me some feedback, I think I'm just too embarrassed? Which is weird for me. I would FREAK if someone looked at my journal. But is there a thread where people post their stuff? I would want to read to maybe learn a bit how others do it.
