Put aside the conventions that happens only once a year, do you think there are places for otakus to meet with other otakus? I'm asking this because I work full time for now and all I do is wait for summer to get my motorcycle out, work, eat, sleep, work, wait for summer. It's kind of a shame what we otakus tend to be poeple that don't go out too much ((or barely even) of course I am not generalizing here there are all kind of poeple in this world)). Because except for clubs at school, annual anime conventions and the manga comics shops in big cities like montreal (in my case) are not so popular even... I don't think I know any other places...Hats off to you poeple who have been looking around for years it haven't been so long for me since I decided to turn the page and try to get a date, and I find it really hard to be single already. It just... Suck, and I guess you know what I mean since you are in this website too. I do have the time (irregular schedule but still) and I have nothing to do when I finish work and I need to spare for a car (probably an Hachiroku, yeah I like Initial D and it's character design needs more love, xD). Little background on me: -I like cats. trololol. -I have a motorcycle and it's the greatest purchase I made in my life so far, god is it awesome to ride those things. I had a girlfriend once and it didn't work out because our interests weren't the same (wich is why I want to talk with poeple with similar interests this time around) -I don't drink and I don't smoke. -I work full time to get some money for tools and a car for I am going to trade school this fall. From my experience: Night club is not the place for an otaku, poeple out there are from a completely different planet than ours and it will be no fun if you are socially awkward. Manga clubs at Cegep (or high school) or university are really cool, but I can't go there because of my work schedule and for some other reasons related to my ex I don't want to get too much into. Otakuthon only happens once a year! Yes it's nice! But with so many poeple around, hitting on girls all around feels wierd, it's like hitting on someone in a metro/subway, you just don't do that, you'd look like a freak or something. There is the Otakulounge, where poeple can read manga all they want. I have been to a similar place that I think was less popular, I have yet to try the real one. So yeah that's pretty much what I know so far. Based on your experience guys, what do you think is the right place? Any idea or things you figured out you want to share?
