I'm someone who loves old anime from the 70's up to 2010, and strongly dislikes most things made after that. I'm generally not interested at all in any new made anime. The things I love most are big fights, good comedy, memorable characters, and stories you can become immersed in and that you can thoroughly enjoy.
My favorite anime, in order, are Yu-Gi-Oh, InuYasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Digimon, Rurouni Kenshin, Ranma 1/2, Fairy Tail, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Dragon Ball Z, and Sailor Moon.
Despite what the page may show, I do not enjoy Attack on Titan, and detest that show stenuously.
