Traditionally, she has been hated by Confucian historians and officials, they exaggerated many things like the death of her first daughter (historians in Song Dynasty said she smothered the baby to death to frame her two enemies, but in historical records of Tang Dynasty, historian didn't mention what caused the death), and made up lies like murdering her favourite son...Obviously, the ancient classic 尚书 had foreseen how terrible the situation would be if a woman started to ruling China before countless years before the empress was born ヽ(⌐■_■)ノ♪♬, 牝鸡司晨(in fact, her reign brought out many positive outcomes). Wu Zetian's endeavors, contributions and accomplishments got known by people in this era. Very powerful n smart woman.

라이언 (ARCHER) @truffle I see. I have read and watched documentaries on this case that she was a great ruler. People initially depicted her to be a ruthless tyrant. Apparently, that was not the case and she was rather someone who empowered women too? She also made many advancements in economy. Was she depicted in a blackened image due to her being a woman?
