Never played the games myself, but I did have a former classmate I would hang out with in middle school who loved the series. I know copies of the games are difficult to get ahold of cheaply and go for a relatively high price.

Gabriel @gabriel_true I just remembered the original games for PlayStation being hard to find. If they put them in steam then that's excellent! Unfortunately for me I don't play on PC, though, haha!

Gensou Suikoden is a legendary video game series from Konami. It is loosely based on one of the four classical chinese novels "The Marshed of Mount Liang" or "Water Margin". In it, 108 heroes, the stars of destiny, unite in order to fight against a corrupt regime.
In Suikoden II, Riou, his step sister Nanami and their mutual childhood friend Jowy are drawn into the Dunan Unification War and in which one of the true runes holding the world together is involved.

Personally, I prefer the first two Persona games which were much darker and more unique RPGs.
Afterwards, the series turned into a time management dating sim with the same monsters as SMT, no demon negotiation and you can't even give your companions new personas.
Therefore, Belladonna and Nanashi.
