So, Heisenberg, Schrodinger and Ohm are in a car...

They get pulled over. Heisenberg is driving and the cop asks him "Do you know how fast you were going?"
"No, but I know exactly where I am" Heisenberg replies.
The cop says "You were doing 55 in a 35." Heisenberg throws up his hands and shouts "Great! Now I'm lost!"
The cop thinks this is suspicious and orders him to pop open the trunk. He checks it out and says "Do you know you have a dead cat back here?"
"We do now, ***hole!" shouts Schrodinger.
The cop moves to arrest them. Ohm resists.

Alright, if you got any of that joke we're off to a good start. I enjoy a good nerdy joke :-) Do you have one I can add to my collection?
Here's more about me:

Some basics:

I'm a trusted ambitious leader of a software development team in a large western Canadian company (>15,000 employees) which I've been with for nearly 10 years. I have bosses who show true interest in my career development, and I'm on a path that has a lot of opportunity. I make good money but am relatively frugal. I can be hard to buy gifts for because I never know what I want...I'm generally satisfied with whatever I have, and physical possessions aren't very important to me. Jerky, uniquely nerdy things, or things that are extremely practical can be appreciated.

Despite a confident outgoing nature at work which is needed to be effective as a leader, I am by nature introverted, which I find easiest to understand by using the question "How do you recharge?" If you "need to get out and do something", or you "feel energized by being around people", you're an extrovert. If you "just need to be alone sometimes", or "socializing drains you", you're an introvert. I am definitely the latter :).

As you can see I have a son! I'm passionate about my relationship with him. He gives my life meaning and purpose beyond just working.

I enjoy TV, movies, twitch.tv, computer games, and anime in my spare time. I haven't had cable in 7 years. One unusual thing about me is that I fully enjoy watching something that I've already seen before as long as it's with someone who hasn't seen it. For some reason it gives me a whole new perspective to think about how the other person is experiencing something.
Some favorites include House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Stargate, How I Met Your Mother, and Game if Thrones for regular TV; Archer, South Park, and for animated series; and for anime, One Piece, Death Note, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Hunter X Hunter, and more!

In terms of personality, I'm sure I, like everyone, am a bit biased in describing myself. That's why I went to the unusual step of posting a picture of how OTHER people perceive me. Take a look!

Personal philosophies:
I believe in positivity and lightheartedness. I can laugh at anything, good or bad (which can get me into trouble), but I think its important to find the humour in life.

I like knowledge very much, I'm always looking to learn more. I know how to research, and I think of myself as pretty good at weeding out fact from fiction, pseudoscience from science, and scams from opportunities. I am happy to be convinced I'm wrong about something. How can you learn more if you think you know it all already? As Socrates said "I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing."

How about you? Do you usually make decisions or think about them a while first? Do you make emotional decisions, logical decisions, or do you find a balance?

Food?
I love food, I'd even call myself a foodie, but often choose simplicity over flavour. I like Soylent as a fast but outrageously nutritious breakfast, and lunch if I don't have leftovers. Being confident that I've given my body proper nutrition, I am ok with eating out now and then purely for taste and flavour and socializing. I'd like to think I'm foodventurous (a made up word). I've tried escargot, beef tounge, duck liver, caviar, and am usually willing to try any cuisine. I am an awesome cook, but prefer to use those skills for the sake of others rather than spending so much time and effort for just myself, like for family get-togethers or potlucks.

Relationships:
I've only had one serious relationship. I took it as seriously as one could, and it lasted 9 years. We separated mutually and respectfully, and our 3 year old swaps houses a couple times a week.
I'm a bit of a romantic, and believe in finding people's "Love Language". I don't know if it's important to have similar love languages...What do you think?

Of course my favourite relationship is with my 3 year old son. His teachers have described him as the comedian of the room, making others laugh. He makes laugh a lot too :-). He's the light of my life! He lights up the world around him too, cashiers and random people on the street can't seem to help but comment on how cute he is.

Fitness:
Am I in good shape? Not really, but I'm making progress. My cardiovascular fitness is pretty good; even fairly tough hikes rarely cause me to have to breathe hard. I'm not huge into sports or outdoorsy stuff, and my job is pretty sedentary, but I go to the gym a couple times a week, and with the improvement in my nutrition since June, I've lost 25 lbs. More to go!

This profile is a work in progress, more to come!

First Date
A good first date would be mini-golf and dinner. Movies don't give you time to talk and get to know someone, and who doesn't like mini-golf! A first date should be casual, fun, and give you enough time to figure out if this is the right kind of person for you. I hope that person is you!
