I totally feel you. I've never really seen the appeal honestly. When I was in university I hung out people that drank excessively and it was awkward for me, to say the least. But to each their own, I guess.
I think if not drinking is something you feel is right for you, you just need to stick to your guns. You might also want to think about who you choose to surround yourself with. Imo, a good friend won't make you feel pressured or guilty about the choices you make.
I guess I am picky but the way I see it is, there's nothing wrong with knowing what you want! I would rather pursue someone that I am genuinely interested and avoid hurting someone I might only be mildly interested in.
