Wow, hehe, I guess I'm not the only one feeling like a loner as an older Otaku, all my Otaku friends are around 20/21 year olds, I only know 1 guy who's my age and he's a hardcore Otaku (but of course, he's married with kids and has no time to hang out), apart from that, the only thing that kind of holds a couple of friends of my generation are video games, but even those are becoming rare.
Hey dude I understand what your saying about not fitting in.The are anime fans around but not where i live It is nice being able to relate with people.I would love to talk me if you are ok with that.
lol yeah the long drive ones are always worth it I would fly to some of them too if I could afford it, especially the big ones like in california or even in canada or japan ^_^
well we have a small one from time to time (about twice a year) in OKC or tulsa which are alright but not always worth it, admission wise, and those are about an hour for me but any good con, like Animefest is like 5hrs away >_<
hi welcome to maiotaku ^_^ yeah I've been a fan since the 90s too and I know how that goes when it comes to standing out lol. and you should never change who you are for anyone no matter how much you stand out. OK is kind of a no otaku area too unless you live in the city where there are a few small conventions and such
Too far away from me to hang out but you still seem cool enough to me! Adding you as a friend...
