Every year Muscatine spends approximately $20,000 on fireworks and the fourth of July parade, and they are asking local businesses and community supporters for support. Sponsorships of Muscatine's fourth of july celebration range from the $50-$99 'friend level', to the $100-$249 'bronze' level, all the way up to the $1000 or more platinum level.

Wii Fit At Wal-Mart at MidnightMay 20, 3pm

Good news. Folks waiting for Nintendo's Wii Fit don't have to wait long for their copy (unless all their neighbors also have the Wii). Considering an official release time such as 8am or even midnight has not been release by Nintendo, Wal-Mart is selling Wii's right at Midnight.

Expect Delays on Park Ave and HW 61May 6, 4am

Drivers should expect delays if using the intersection of Park Avenue and Highway 61 today. Crews have been out since earlier this morning, working on apparent problems with the stoplights. Currently the intersection is a temporary four way stop-sign controlled intersection, which may be a problem for lunchtime traffic.

As the waters rose last week, flooding most of the riverfront and even into downtown, we could see our Clam-Hunter statue right in his element, right in the midst of the Mississippi. The water has now mostly receded, except from the immediate riverfront area.

Tornado sirens went off today at 3:05pm, preceeding unconfirmed reports of multiple tornado/funnel cloud sightings in various areas (outside of lone tree, along the interstate, among others) in Muscatine County.

Muscatine's city council meeting today began with the swearing in of a couple new public safety officers, which preceded the recognition of Officer Mark Lawrence for his work in arresting stolen good traffickers, trafficking more than a quarter million in stolen goods.

Tradgedy struck a normally quiet neighborhood when a suicide occurred at 1011 Cypress Ave, after a man who reportedly had shot at police had shot himself. Lee Romine, 33, was determined by police to be dead in the Kitchen a little before 8:00pm today.

Muscazine To Hold Debate For Sheriff’s CandidatesApr 1, 6am

The five candidates vying for the position of Sheriff in Muscatine County will have an opportunity to talk about their platform to the voters on Wednesday, April 16. The Muscazine, an online e-zine about Muscatine, is holding a candidate’s forum/debate in the Council Chambers of Muscatine City Hall at 6pm.
