but the problem with starting that topic is that it might offend people if i start a topic called "types of gamers" then im gonna have to get every gamer down by summariing what type they are soo it basically putting labels on gamers =/ see my problem?

Ewww not a good idea then. How about, the types of games you enjoy? As in what Genres, or what must a game have in order for you to play and enjoy it? Wouldn't that be a safer bet?

I gave you a link filled with 27 pages of games with female protagonists, each page having around 10-20 games. So far from what I have noticed, you seem to completely miss all the points people make and assume they are an attack on you. I saw a comment referring to the lack of clothing and over sexualized imagery of female characters, so I responded to it. I have no issue with you not wanting to play a male character, or you not liking the games suggested (though I am curious as of to why). The only issue I have is how you conducted yourself and that you were missing quite a few points people made. I honestly believe it would be a good idea to slow down when you read what people say and actually think about it. That might help with you feeling so attacked. Also, someone asking why you do not like a game does not bring about haters. It is a natural part of conversation. For example, I absolutely hate Call of Duty. Naturally, they ask how I do not like it, and then they accept and understand my reasoning. I do not blow up on them and call them haters or anything, I acknowledge that they are legitimately curious. Oh, and seriously. Check out that list. there were some pretty good games with female protagonists. If you do not like a game, try a different one. I am sure you can find at least one in that list.

The idea that just because women have exaggerated physiques doesn’t mean they’re sexist because the men are just as exaggerated too doesn't really work for various reasons. It assumes – falsely – that the things that women find sexy are the same things that guys find sexy; that is, the exaggerated secondary sex characteristics. The other issue is the reason for the exaggeration. Male characters are a power fantasy; the large muscles and massive torsos are visual signs that this character is an unstoppable powerhouse. Kratos doesn’t look the way he does because Sony Computer Entertainment did focus-market studies and found that women reacted best to that design; he looks the way he does because he represents the powerful alpha-male that gamers want to be. In fact, I believe for most women, it's not the muscle bound heroes that are considered the most appealing, but rather other traits in that character. Considering popular female loved characters, honestly, they tend to be more lithe in build than the other side of the spectrum. Women like to fantasize about being desirable yes, but we also like to be powerful, and our definition of what we would consider to be sexy and powerful doesn’t mean battle-bikinis and thongs of power.

See, we can all have nice discussions :D I don't think you should shy away from controversial topics, but I do think that we would all benefit from a little control over our knee jerk reactions just a tad.

Lollipop Chainsaw. Best game ever. The main character is a high school cheerleader who was trained for a zombie apocalypse. The zombie blood is pink and when you decapitate it, rainbows and sparkles appear. It sounds dumb, but it's my favorite game. Ever. I think it plays on all consoles. I have mine on x box. Kudos to you! Feminism. But the reason we have male characters as the main person is because the gaming population isn't directed toward females. Honestly, there's what 100 million people who play video games? Only a million out of that are females. Now, if the gaming community had a spike in female players I'm sure a female main character video game would be more common. It's not the game creators fault, that they chose the majority over the minority.
