Itasha in general is becoming more common... I live in San Francisco (USA) and some guy @ my work place parking garage have EVA theme ITASHA (mini colubman) If it was a bit more affordable I would totally plaster some Itasha goodness on my ride as well Think black & white manga style ...

Itasha cars literally translate to painful cars Also, Why the fuck would I want to have a damn car with a bunch of anime or game characters painted onto it?

Because ANIME CAR !?! almost same reason why DRIFTERs have BRIGHT NEON color wheels ... so it attracts more attention ... Think guys who add "flames" to their car ... now the Anime guy will add instead of "flame" .. but rather "Shakugan no Shana" since there is still flames technically
