Honestly, I dont expect anything to happen to MO. My main concerns are stuff like AV chat programs (like discord), work servers, online class services, streaming, gaming, and censorship of information and stuff (something like what China does). Id honestly be more worried about Discord than MO. While slowing of internet is frustrating, the main one Im worried about is the unrestricted ability to stifle the flow of information. Say Verizon is heavily republican? They could block any news sites they want that are not Faux or Breitbart. They could censor Wikipedia. Say your university only offers a required class online, but another university has paid your ISP to give them priority and slow down your's? Guess who's SOL? Regardless of technical diffulties involved with implementing such a system, the major ISPs spent millions lobbying so this shit could be legal. Why? So they could not use it? I find that hard to believe. As far as legislation goes, legislation to protect the consumer is ideal. But congress rarely even passes legislation to protect society as a whole. The current congress and the orangutan in the oval office are pushing this country closer to demise faster than Obama ever could have. Also, fun article: https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/6306360

You know I had no problem with any of your logic until that last paragraph. "Ungrateful minorities" eh? Now I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and not jumping to conclusions thinking you're talking about all minorities when you say that since I'll agree there are people who take advantage of government assistance, but what are we so ungrateful for? Not me or any of my family members are demanding special treatment and handouts, neither are any of the other blacks that I personally know. They all work their damn asses off only to be painted as lazy criminals who live off of welfare or whatever fucking stereotype people like to use. That shit's disgusting People like you preach so much about race relations, how they were ruined, and how they can be improved yet you spout shit like that at the same time. Oh gee I wonder why minorities are so ungrateful and hate the current president, must be the liberals wanting to push their PC agenda.

I don't know much about this topic but either its going to be cybernetic Armageddon or its going to be great and innovative there seems to be no in between. My distrust of big corporations leads me to lean toward the Armageddon side of things (I don't know or think it will be thaaaaaaatttt bad). I mean we can give the big corporations a chance and (ideally / hopefully) punish them or regulate them should they overstep boundaries. I don't see this going well but maybe it won't be the total clusterfuck that is being hyped up.

napalm, this is comcast wer talking about they already form unlawful monopolies they were voted worst company every year for, what, 4 years? oh yeah i trust them with my precious, precious internet >w>
napalmamaterasu
I live in an area with a little competition and variety (I have RCN but could have Verizon or probably a couple other options maybe comcast) One of the things we agree on is that giving corporations or big financial entities disproportionate power will spell trouble. The monopolies for cable / internet (at first) were mostly for practicality (infrastructure wise). If a monopoly is allowed to be established and not bound by something like Sherman Antitrust they should be much more regulated than other businesses / corporate entities. The monopolies would normally be unlawful but localized monopolies for utilities or other services like that are Antitrust exempt. While I think it will be worse than it is now I don't see it being some firestorm shit hell hole clusterfuck end of the world either. I could be wrong and I'm open to the idea of it being that bad. The conservatism running through my veins urges - ammo up and watch your six :)

but napalm >w>! what about your love for capitalism >w>?!?!
napalmamaterasu
I may be conservative leaning but that doesn't mean I'm steadfast pro capitalism deregulate the market make it free as fuck. The only issue I might actually feel compelled to call up a congress/representative about is conceal and carry reciprocity across all states. I'm much more a "lets see how this goes" on NN. Its possible that these companies won't commit fiscal suicide since there'd be such an uproar (bad publicity, boycotts, things like that) that even companies Comcast or Verizon wouldn't want to take if they could avoid it. A startup "internet how it used to be one price" company or package would probably be made available. Lamby you dont know my politics as well as you think it seems :P (again I'm more Brietbart guy than Fox XD ... I"m still facepalming Alabama tho)
