Find a goal to dedicate yourself to. I don't find time for depression.

Listening to music is a massive help to me, and alcohol if if gets really bad but I don't recommend that. My advice is try listening to music as much as you can, and anything else that might help you relax or just zone out. And I do kind of agree with Mary but I don't wanna sound like an ass. I really don't know how to deal with it all I really do is cope and basically feel emotionally numb.

I've never been diagnosed with depression because I've never gone to a doctor to be diagnosed but I've dealt with at least mild depression. Everyone is a little different and you can't just pick one thing to fix it. But there are ways to cope that are pretty universal. Spend time with people, pick up a new hobby or focus on an existing one. If there's something in your life that's causing the depression the important thing to do would be to talk to someone about it. Most people don't really know how much letting something out can help. If you don't feel like you can do that with anyone you know, then you should see a doctor and talk to them. That's their job. Also spending time alone isn't a bad thing as long as you're consciously aware that you want some alone time and aren't closing yourself off from other people. P.S. don't take medical advice from strangers.

Honestly there’s no way to deal with it to where it just magically goes away. Just made an appointment with my doctor today after having a panic attack at work to go back on anti depressants because even though I hate the thought that I need to rely on something to make me not cry uncontrollably at the drop of a hat I know I need them. You can also try exercising, getting hobbies to help distract yourself, hanging out with people or doing some lone soul searching if that’s what you need. There’s lots of different ways to help cope

As someone who has lived with depression for over a decade, all I can say is it's hard, but I'm living quite a functional life with an okay job, good friends & doing stuff I enjoy without being on anti-depressants. Yes I have days like today where I just get fed up with everything, but I know that tomorrow will bring a new day & I'll probably have a better day (mainly because I don't have to get up and commute for 2 hours to work and can go rock climbing, swimming, play world of warcraft all day then watch anime) Knowing what you enjoy helps a lot, especially if you can do excersise, because even if you feel at your worse it'll always make you feel better. Oh also everyone's depression is different, the way you think & feel is very different but one thing I can definitely say is youre not alone ^.^

I’ve had depression for a long time because I was bullied in middle school. The way I see it it’s about not caring what people think the world sucks anyway so why not try to be something. Just my thoughts

To get over depression you need to be thinking positive in a better environment. If you're around negative people you're going to have a negative effect on your life and body. So try doing something with your depression like try to turn into a positive by doing things that you like doing and not things that will just make you even more depressed.
