How to get over a break up? Well I never actually broke up with anyone in an actual relationship, but I believe that it is best to try to not be alone during that time after the initial break up. Due to the fact that you will have too much time to think, and will most likely think mostly about trying to make up with the other person. Who probably doesn't even want you back to begin with. Sota, there's no quick fix to getting over a break up. From my own experience, no amount of alcohol, sex, and other forms of instant gratification would numb the pain and fill the void. What worked for me, may not work for you. So, here it goes. What works for me is being one with my pain, surrounding myself with people who support your character, and getting professional help. Focus on your happiness and moving forward. Ultimately, you're responsible for your thoughts, actions, and emotions. Good luck

well it may take a while, depending on each person. Try to go out with friends, but also have your cry alone time to release the pain 'cause if u pretend is not there it gets worst!The alcohol thing will just bring back memories and make u do stupid things, so don't. Be healthy and in shape, it will make u feel great. Ohh and get ride of all the stuff connected to the person!!! Pics, letters or anything, clean social media too! That's how you'll heal

Find someone you can trust to vent away and spend time with - a close friend who'll happily comfort and spend time with you. Indulge in the hobbies you enjoy and make as much time as you can to relax and expel the negativity away. Of course don't relax 24/7, its important to know when to get up and get busy with something - anything to keep your mind occupied as much as possible so you won't think as much about this kind of thing. It'll take time but you'll eventually move on. Just keep looking forward :)

^soo much what nyandere said. i drink so i can feel more, i actually can't cry much unless i do drink. so i've been drinking a lot lately to cry. thank god my roomie is chillax as fuck and doesn't judge me for being a girly guy that cries constantly

Give yourself time, give yourself space, and don't try to minimize what happened. Let your emotions play themselves out. Suppressing them will only frustrate you further. I also find it helps to confide in people you trust who can help put things into context for you. That really helped me out of the funk that I was in following a recent breakup.

I just went thru a break-up again but not as heavy as my first one. My first one was earth shaking. For me, I concentrated on not thinking about them, and bettering myself as time passed (read a book, learn a new thing, workout). -This comes only after you express all your pent up feelings about the whole affair- I played a game with myself saying "I will be the best version of me for when I meet the right person." This game helps me realize I have my own goals and life to pursue, the ex is not a part of it anymore. Then comes a point where you just know: "I'm letting you go" crosses your mind about your ex. And you'll feel liberated, ready to move on.
