Death Note Netflix

I saw it. Would not call it absolute crap(judging it as it's own, not as an adaptation). It's just sort of an average movie. I did like the ending :P Had a few issues with it but there were things I liked. I'd give it 4.5 / 10

In terms of what I enjoyed about it I liked: -L -Some parts of the soundtrack -And the fact it was at least an entertaining film with some unique visuals All in all it's 3-5/10 range for me.

True. Lakeith Stanfield (Get it? His name starts with L) really did a nice portrayal. Sure he took some liberties with the eccentric side but it was fun to see. Contrast that with Light who was....really kind of underwhelming. I get that it was more of it's own film but even just as a character this light was too passive and whiny when he wasn't being emotional and stupid. Willam Dafoe sold the shit outta Ryuk. Not quite the same as the anime but he sure as hell had fun with it

I'm honestly afraid to watch it judging by it's trailer, I don't like it when live action movies have to put their own spin on stories that I like. My trust issues started with Dragonball Evolution. I tried to give the Ghost in the Shell live action a chance months ago and the fanboy in me just cringed. My friends will say "just don't think about the original story and accept it as it's own thing" hell no... Not with the franchise's name on it.

It sucked so much...at least compared to the original. If you don't compare it, then it's just...mediocre at best.

It wasnt that bad. I give it a 4 out 10. I thought it was a series!

Big fan of the original series here. As an adaptation of the original story, characters, and overall style, it was... not great. But, if you push aside the original material, honestly it was a pretty fun film. It was entertaining throughout, had some nice gory deaths, and Willem Dafoe kicked all sorts of ass as Ryuk. I'm fairly satisfied overall.

One criticism for the film I find to a bit unfair is people comparing it to Dragonball Evolution. I mean at least with Death Note they kept their artistic integrity. That and it was trying to be somewhat faithful to the source material.
