Is it okay to even try and fix broken hearts and friendships?

its_showtime
I'm really not that thrilled to be asking for advice and such, it's not that I dont want to its just the fact of what I have done in my past. As the title states is it even okay to try or should I just give up and let it go. I really would like to give you all the backstory..I just don't know the words to describe what I did. I would just like a general opinion on the topic please and thank you.

From my past experiences I'd just let it go honestly :(

But like nyan said, completely up to you ^^

It seems to be bothering you and if you do just let it go then you will have to live with that choice. On the other hand I don't know the situation so.. In my personal experience I had a bad break up where I was a massive jerk and that bothered me every day for 4 years until I had to confront the situation and even though it didn't fix things with that person It did fix how I was feeling. And now I smile more

In my experience it's best to leave it alone for awhile, give it a few months or even a year to let the hurt feelings die down before attempting to mend those broken connections, if you still want to do it.

The question you should be asking yourself is "Does this person value and respect my time?" The reasoning being is that you should be thinking of your time as if it's the most valuable thing in the world to you, When you value and appreciate your time then you'll no longer allow others to waste your time, or treat you like a second class citizen. When people value and appreciate your time; then you give them the gift of more of your time, but when they don't value or appreciate your time, then you give the the gift of "missing you". With that being said; it's up to you to dictate whether or not you wanna invest your time to that person. Don't let others treat you badly, in-fact it can be argued that people treat you in accordance to how YOU allow them to treat you.

Are there any good reasons to fix it to begin with. Personally, if there's nothing left with the person then there's no reason for me to stay.

It totally depends on you. You may try to fix stuff if it is a valuable friendship but if they go over the limits you should def finish that 'cause u should never allow people stepping on your feelings and offending u. If it's a couple try and talk maybe a second chance if your heart tells u to, so no regrets later 'cause u know u tried... Not a third chance. EVER!!! cut the person out of your life and start your healing process, no one deserves to be treated like shit or be taken for granted.

It's honestly best to let it go and move on - that's what my experiences have told me but if you really, REALLY care about that person and you think they see you the same way then I see nothing wrong in giving it a try :) Just think about it and do what you feel is the right thing.
