Mecha thread

Mecha is one of my favorite genres of animu. From serious and gritty stuff like Ideon, Votoms, and Gasaraki to more fun over the top stuff like TTGL, G Gundam, and Getter Robo. Personally, I hate the mecha genre, but my favorite Anime all time Neon Genesis Evangelion + all movies is in the Genre mecha. SO my favorite mecha anime is if I have to choose: The End of Evangelion I never felt so empty inside After I watched it. It felt like the whole world is a lie and there is no hope for a better story.

I like mecha but I prefer it when they dont transform. Ive always enjoyed Blue Gender and Full metal panic. I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion and liked it up until the end, but thats mainly because Im not a huge fan of Psychological thrillers

I'm not fan of the new mecha today. Old mecha is better. My favorite of mecha is Gurren Logann. That the only one worth rewatching.

Ive always prefered the series where the robot doesnt change forms, they've been doing that more recently but I do enjoy some of the older series. I think Super dimensional fortress Macross was my first mecha anime

You could say that I want to be a mecha fan, but simply can't. Mecha are cool and all, but the settings and stories they're usually found in are very off putting. Especially with more recent series it seems like they're always some grim dark edgy trash made for Hottopic kids. I did however really like TTGL, escaflowne, macross, and even thought the mecha sides of codegayass weren't half bad to name a few.
