A New Season

A bunch of our favorite anime season just ended. Which means, it's time for a new season and new anime to begin. What anime do you think looks interesting this season? So far my recommendations are: Bloodivores Shuumatsu no Izetta Trickster Natsume Yuujinchou Go 3-gatsu no lion

WWW.Working!!! When I saw "Working!!" was doing a new season I got excited. It was one of my favorites. But I was disappointed with the first episode since there wasn't any of the original cast. And the new characters just seem silly in a really bad way. If you aren't familiar with the original series its one I highly recommend as a very fun comedy about a bunch of odd ball workers at a family restaurant. The new season however.... Very silly... Since when did restaurant serve ghosts that don't pay for their order? And how does someone who sees ghost not even realize they see ghosts? And who just hands out stacks of money? And a family of really bad comedians? Quirky characters are staples of the show, but that's ridiculous. Also the characters themselves just seen cheaper. Not as well done or as well thought out. I really really hope they don't ruin the series just throwing random stuff together without a real plot. But this being a totally different story, maybe my expectations were too high from the original series.

"60 years ago, a strange case of insomnia struck the population, forcing them to stay awake for more than a full week. The victims, completely sleep deprived, all went mad. To cure this illness, a new medicine was produced, but the side effects turned the patients into vampires. Humanity went to war against this new species and triumphed, but some of the vampires managed to survive. Born from a Human and a Vampire, the main character Mi Liu, “The Child of Hope”, is to represent the new hope that will connect the two species. Ringleader of a bank robbery, Mi Liu is arrested and transferred to a special prison of the National Defense Agency that monitors Vampires. Trying to break free with Anji, Mi Liu is attacked by strange monsters and he finds out that the prison location corresponds to the birthplace of Vampires, the old capital “Blue Town." Why are Vampires trapped in Blue Town? What are those strange monsters attacking them? Our heroes must fight to solve those mysteries." --- end of Synopsis From the first episode the plot is a bit forced and conspiracy thick. Drug companies getting a free pass even though their drug turns people into bloodivores (vampires). And the bloodivores are viciously discriminated against rather than treated as victims. Then add a government cover up and being framed for murder. It's definitely a different twist to a vampire type story though. And the over all look and animation seemed pretty good. It's got potential. I'm curious to see the next episode.

Shuumatsu no Izetta (Izetta: The Last Witch) http://blog.honeyfeed.fm/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Shuumatsu-no-Izetta-Key-Visual-2-20160715201802.jpg A historical World War I era fantasy story about a Princess and a witch (that rides a sniper rifle rather than a broom). The first episode had quite a bit of fan service. I'm guessing to keep people interest while they build the plot up a bit. It had a slow start. Though the characters and animation was done well. Not much to go on from the first episode.

Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku (Magical Girl Raising Project) http://cdn1.misumi.com.ar/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Mahou-Shoujo-Ikusei-Keikaku-1-720x405.jpg I'm not into magical girl shows, but for those looking for new shows to watch, here you go. This is a show about kids turning into magical girls... For an odd twist, apparently guys can too... This one seemed to have a rather dark looking opening scene, then turned all fluffy and innocent the way you'd expect a show about magical girls to be. The comment one of them makes at the end of the show is a bit of an ominous flag that something bad is about to happen.

Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/images/anime/6/81989.jpg Synopsis: The year is 2205. The "historical revisionists" have begun attacks on the past in their plot to change history. The Saniwa, who have been charged with protecting history, can imbue life into objects. Strongest among these are the Tōken Danshi. The story centers around their cheerful lives. --- End Synopsis All of them bunch of pretty boys. I didn't make it through 5 minutes of this anime. Maybe this is more for girls. I won't be watching anymore of this one.

Immediately, he learns that the history he has learned in the textbooks is wrong, and there is a more interesting version of history where the peerless beauty Cleopatra is actually the comic duo of Cleo and Patra, Momotarō is more of an ogre than actual ogres. Together with his teammate Karen, they use the 24 Bokan Mecha to search for the True History. --- End synopsis I feel dumber for having watched any of it. But here you guys go.
