Have you learned all the Japanese you know from watching anime? or in just reading manga?

Some of what I know is because of anime, though I generally try to avoid learning Japanese from it. I focus mostly on reading my grammar textbook (Japanese the Manga Way, for those wondering. I highly recommend it!) and searching online if I have particular questions. I have yet to read manga, but apparently the way they speak in manga isn't far from real life. Once I have a good enough grasp of the grammar and some vocabulary, I'll pay a bit more attention to the voices in anime, and play a few video games in Japanese.

Not on purpose. I've just watched so much anime that when someone talks to me in Japanese, I can understand them. Too bad that I respond in english though. It doesn't always work the other way.

Watching anime, so intro to Japanese apps, and Japanese phrase book.

By going to classes. I'm always envious to those who can learn a language by just watching/reading/playing something.

All of it i learned from anime. I did take a class in college but had to drop it because I wasnt able to keep up on the work load.

I can understand most japanese from watching anime, currently using a game called 'slimeforest' from the Project LRNJ webpage to learn Katakana and Hiragana. It works really well lol. Already know about 90% of Katakana and I think i'll figure out Hiragana easily as it's very similar to Katakana.

A combination of a few classes paired with reverse engineering a lot of subbed anime. I can understand normal spoken japanese and reply in kind. Used this to gather some easy points in japanese courses at university.
