Bonin no Xamdou was amazing. It has some parallels to Romeo and Juliet.

Mirai Nikki's story kept me interested every second of every episode. The concept of it is just so genius, I can't even put it in words.

I dunno whatcha mean by best, best sad, best happy or best overall? *sadface*, meh, ill rig it like this. Best Sad - 5cm Per Second Best Happy - Chobits Best Overall - Clannad + Clannad AS (They count as one series imo)

a good story would be Code Geass. :) its on my "one of my top Animes" list :D
