Mecha Mecha Everywhere!!

Well, honestly I'm fairly certain many of us believe Japan will be the first to make a Mecha kinda like a mobile suit or Arm slave. So how do you think such an invention would change the world. Will it have a positive or negative effect.

The day mechas are made, Shit will get serious.

yes, robotics to a whole different level..its scarier if they eventually develop A.I's themselves..one without a pilot.. *glooms.. o.o but i think its cool to ride (CG) a nightmare. .... .though in simulation only? wii howd dat go.lols..

From my understanding it's part of Japans new Military Defense strategy to start building robots to assist their army, this includes the bulldog like robots the u.s. and china have developed to walk along side infantry. However, from what I gathered it seemed they were hinting at larger manned robotics possibly like the mechs we all want so much. Odds are U.S. starts building it first, China gets it off the line first, and Japan actually makes the first commercially produced versions.

They're called Big Dog (USA's) and Da Gou (China's version) if you want to look them up.

I don't classify that thing as a mecha, I mean...first of all it drives around on wheels and can't even really operate them that well. Other than the main issue of it not being to go anywhere a pothole is present it's about as fast as a snail and graceful as a beached whale. The only thing they really accomplished is creating the first ride aboard 'mech'. For the price I could build an actual all terrain mech...
