Fan of mech shows, mahou shoujo, sports anime, kaiju films, trashy shoujo manga, and all things "kawaii." East Asian Studies major. Speaks a little Japanese and a little Mandarin Chinese.

I'm really interested in other aspects of Japanese culture (pop or otherwise) as well as just anime. As an East Asian Studies major my main focus is language acquisition (I love me some grammar rules) and my secondary focuses are on Japanese history and religion. As far as pop culture goes I'm into pretty much all forms of J-fashion (especially lolita, gyaru/himegyaru/kogal, and otome kei), I like a lot of visual kei bands, and I love live action movies and dramas.

My interests aren't exclusive to otaku stuff, either! I'm also really into western animation and comics, sci-fi, and all that standard nerdy stuff. And I'm pretty big into the goth music and fashion scene.

I'm also trying to get back into the cosplay scene after a long long hiatus from it!
