Oregon University Shooting and Gun Control.

coffeelink
Today there was a shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, and it has been deemed as a religious shooting, and i was wondering to hear what the Otaku Community is thinking about the incident. I honestly don't feel much Sorrow or any deep sadness of it, simply because good and bad people die everyday; Even children suffer like grown people, the only things that differentiate one from the other is Media Coverage and popularity. So when you cry over somebody you barely knew; always remember that Somewhere, sometime and someway that somebody is suffering much worse. But even still that does not mean you shouldn't respect the dead and people. I wanna just say that i believe that that there has to be some sort of prevention when it comes to gun control; they do get in the hands of the wrong people and they do cause havoc in these situations, but i personally believe that the problem resides in the ethical values of an individual and not the mechanisms product of the firearm, Keep in mind that there are twisted people in every country, and if somebody wants someone dead they'll find some-way to achieve that; i mean look at what timothy Mcveigh and Terry Nichols achieved with only fertilizer and other compounds, but i can agree that Guns are a tool that make stuff like this more achievable. but they can also make these things preventable in the right hands, Now i believe that an all out ban against Weapons will only put Stuff like AR-15's, Combat Shotguns and Sidearms in the arms of the oppressor's, but then again; not having Restrictions will put them in the arms of the unstable. so realistically both sides are white and black. but there will always be a way to procure a weapon either legally or illegally; let me just say that yes, you can procure weapons illegally if you know where to look and have the Money to do so, if you ban all weapons; you'll only be benefiting the Black Market and Criminal organizations since the demand will be high. Now the Black market doesn't refer to the dark alley on the bad-side of town where the guns are all stocked in a crate or some movie-shit; usually they consist of individual seller's(Mostly), Gang's, Smuggler's/drug Traffickers or cartel's. These markets do exist and often do have Assault Rifles, Battle-Rifles and Restricted weapons. You ban the free purchase of them and you'll might be potentially bringing more horrific evils to the field, Trust me. Now Putting some restrictions i can agree with, such as; Criminal Backround checks, Clean Criminal records to purchase certain class or calibre of firearm and etc. but always keep in mind that realistically; whether it be Illegally or legal, it's all just parameters and confines, the thing is what Confines will you abide by? I'd go into more detail, but i'm bored and need to shower, but if i feel i left something out, i'll surely add it in later. but let me hear your thoughts.(Keep the comments the respectful; although Criticism is welcomed, Speak your mind; but be sure you have a logical basis for your statements) But i do own firearms of my own and i can agree that they're are idiots on both sides of the fence; whom just want to voice their opinions, i just hope that most are able to take criticism in a beneficial aspect. Update#1: and Banning all weapons in the United States won't do shit, There is just too much guns and criminals at the borders. Organizations like the Cartel pretty much do what they want; They'll get guns, Hell they already do have access to Mil-spec rifles. and Nobody is going to take them away from them, Not in that government anyway.

I think background checks are appropriate, but I also agree that banning the guns would not stop criminals from possessing them, like the case with illegal drugs. Of course, this also ties in with mental health treatment in this country. Regardless of the policies, it's really sad that these things happen.

Some on the radio said it best. There will be a flap. People will be "outraged". Control advocates will yell. 2nd amendment crowd will yell. Then it'll become yesterday's news. Then the day after yesterday's news. As defined by our actions as a nation, we don't give a fuck. Which is rather sad. We seem to be somehow more susceptible to this than any other civilized nation in the 1st world. Yet for all our technology and knowhow... So I at least focus on our wins as a country: Defunding planned parenthood and banning Cuban cigars.

he posted on 4 chan that he was doing it and said dont go to school tomorrow if you are in the nw

As a society, we, not the government, need to learn to control our urge to buy guns and promote non-violence. People should, regardless of 2nd Amendment, be allowed to defend themselves, but also protect the safely of everyone.

Did anyone know the legalization of weed was today as well in Oregon, Makes you kind of wonder if the two are connected in a some way. This is not really a gun control issue. A stupid person issue.
