So after thinking some things over I feel the need to put a thread in concerning this topic. What I wish to discuss? The thoughts you have in regards to the homeless. Or moreover a poll at least to consider your view towards them. Are you somebody who believes that they are truly needing of more support in our society? Or perhaps do you think they just need to toughen up and get better? Or something else do go on and give your view on the matter.

i believe it is a series of various situations. on one hand having friends who have been homeless for various reasons one can understand their needs but on the same.token can see that often times how they handled the situation was not the most productive. anyone can become homeless at anytime, unfortunately some combat mental illness without.support and for them i can empathize.but for the.rest of the able bodied/minded individuals whom make a career of begging tax free from those of us who have not given up i have no sympathy. (your a vet? sorry you chose to serve.a country that used and abandoned you like the country you invaded.) frankly i dont believe that any citizen of the united states (homeless or not) understands the.true value of poverty. there are.homeless people on hollywood blvd that have 6 figure bank accounts and still beg... im not heartless i just care too much about people to see them fail themselves...

I have never been one who believes in dog eat dog or only the strong survive. I think alot of people get down on their luck and need that push to get em on their feet. I at least think there need to be more shelters or food drives to help them. Or shown some compassion so they can see not all of us are complete assholes. But I am also a firm believer that those who can help themselves shouldn't be asking for handouts. There is a big difference in standing in the same place for hours everyday when there isn't anything wrong with them asking for money, compared to someone being evicted from somewhere has a kid and is standing around trying to get a ride or money. but is looking for a job. Or some elderly person who is freezing and doesn't have somewhere to go and can't get a job cause they don't have clothes. Those are the kind of people you help out, even some change makes their day. People decline to help others now a day, honestly mostly due to selfishness and the current economy. Times are hard in a recession. I mean we all have money to blow on $300 phones and consoles, even our hobbies, but we can't find maybe 10 bucks in all that to help someone get a hot meal?

natural selection doesn't actually have anything to do with how well you survive your environment. It only matters in terms of how successfully you pass on your traits and given the birth tread in most of the world's society, you're looking at a future like idiocracy. It just means sexual success, not like economic success. Sorry, bio major. Carry on~

Allow me to elaborate my view then. After seeing this thread has gotten some attention. I think the homeless at the very least the legit homeless without a place to go are in quite a pickle. When people see homeless a good majority of them think that they are just lazy or drug addicts without any aspiration to get better. Whilst that may be easy to see its not really the case. Theres also quite a few different forms of homeless you have the homeless that are on the street due to a ill turn of events. Then you have the homeless or have the chronic aspect of it. They are stuck in a continued set of routines that only keeps them being homeless. I personally dont think that simply giving them stuff is going to help either for the latter. At least little small handouts. In reality most of us are simply doing that to ease our guilt or make ourselves feel like we are doing good. However the reality of the situation is we are just trying to remove ourselves from the situation and quickly be on our way. This with a few other things makes us view homeless as sub human which is surely the case when you look at the majority of peoples thoughts on the homeless. We take away the human aspect of them and then give unfair standards for them to follow up on by getting better. When in reality the system is set up against them. How is that the case? Well for one if you became homeless and dont have a job then this is already setting yourself up into a hole. Considering the fact that you need to look presentable for most jobs to consider you if you dont have a home nor enough ways to properly take care of yourself chances are you are going to be off putting to most job interviews. Shelters for the most part are hole in themselves with the way they work which is why you would be surprised that homeless only use them as a last resort. Then theres the whole matter of time on your hands being homeless you will have plenty. If you dont have a job nor anybody to talk to for the most part you could easily find yourself falling into activities that are not so desirable drug usage being a main one. Thats a few but hopefully it represents the point I am making somewhat.

Lol it's just one of my peeves because I know a lot of creationism supportors like to use natural selection like that as a example of how evolution is morally wrong or whatever.
