How to you think the media consumption of people in the last 20 + years have effected us like U.S. and UK are in the top five for most watched television? do you think it has had an effect on us as a group of people? also has it divert us from more important issues re guarding the planet? have we now started to lose the meaning of team work?

consumption of media isn't bad in itself. But there are several problems like , over consumption,no fact checking, political polarization, popularity voting. I heard a lot of CEO's and mangers complain about workers getting stressed out because of social media. This cause an increase in sick days and lower productivity. The lack of people fact checking cause certain rumours to turn deadly, i have seen several examples of wrong reports causing large amount of suffering on individuals causing them to commit suicide. Even the political system has been affected people running for president these days need to focus much more on what people want to see. Their ideas also have to become more extreem to make an impression and get media attention. Not all is bad of course things like the internet increase globalization (anime is an example of this). We can learn so much more about the world around us in these days compared to 10 years ago. We can talk to almost anybody in the world to exchange ideas views. Somebody 5000 miles away doesn't have to be a stranger any more. We can also learn a lot from resource on the internet like coursera, treehouse and linda.

I threw out my TV 10 years ago and could not be happier but the Internet has mostly replaced it. I try not to get wrapped up in social media as Facebook has proved it can manipulate people better than TV by controlling what gets on peoples wall posts. There was a recent story that social media use has dropped a little as I think people are getting weary of it.

My opinion on media is it has been a catch 22 you have in one area where it plays on are fantasies selling stuff e.g. toy, games, tech that make believe were evolving into a strong human with inclusion of everyone then in the next moment your shown how un-advance we are as humans still people getting illness people trying, to tell us how to be happy, needless destruction going on. @DarkuSchneider a good idea throwing out your t.v. as I also believe the rise of more channels has ruined t.v. of what it was meant to be instead of be a place where people watched a programme and the next groups of people who watch the programme could talk about the show it just now a catalogue of other people voices and images also true about Facebook I think maybe in the next five years people get distant from Facebook especially if it doesn't lead to any advance effects of the outside world. I do think the internet made us more global, but I do wonder if it had an effect on us becoming less effective in the real world because we think the internet can help with every aspect of an idea or plan.

As I post before media it is a catch 22 however I do find here in the Uk its given people the sense everyone is middle class, also its seems slowly media made us forget what we are as humans we do have responsibility that come with being just born, as it seems when it was all new it brought us together it still dose, now how ever we never learned the flaws we had before media. mainly I think media only reflect how we are in reality are societies, communities so as we never mange to learn are mistakes before the arrival of media age it plays out on are screens now instead, e.g. when in school we teach kids not to bully but a newspaper or any media outlet can come up with a mean or hurtful name to a celebrity, how the next minute that same paper or media outlet join a campaign to stop bullying.
