Multiple personality disorder

When a person had this, is it considered that the person is crazy, insane or what? Errrr for example one time the mood of the person is ok, then suddenly it will just change and become a whole lot of different person? Well its not being bipolar cause its a lot more difficult to explain x_______X

Have you had an experience with such a person? I don't understand what you're asking.

Chances you probably don't have it if you are self diagnosing, symptoms also include frequent black outs in memory.

Well uhmmm its more like that i guess? Gots black out then you dont remember what happened at all... then a person will tell you you did something and you were a completely different person when you do it? But you really have no idea what you did or what happened

Dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder) is considered a mental disorder. Being called crazy or insane is ... well... not inaccurate but perhaps not entirely the case. It has more to do with what one's own identity is as opposed to what's wrong with it. They could communicate and appear as very much sane. There are high odds that all aspects to their personality(ies) that appear have always been present and just subdued or ignored. Having said that, they can identify as different individuals but also might still be "parts" of a single person. There's a lot of variation with how their personalities may present themselves and before you consider them "crazy" it's important to understand the dynamics of each personality and whether each one individually could be considered "crazy". If the answer is no, then I believe it would be best to consider them more just... different than insane. Perhaps broken or damaged mentally. Much like one would consider manic depression or PTSD as mental damage.

If you really think dissociative identity disorder is something you have then please go see a psychiatrist. If you're asking in terms of another person, then please urge them to go see a psychiatrist because the internet and or people who have no training/education/licensure regarding mental disorders are not people who can give a diagnosis :/

What Penna said. There's a large spectrum when it comes to DID. Usually the ones suffering from lesser forms of DID are the ones that seem more bi-polar than anything. It's the more severe forms of DID that involve blackouts and doing things you can't remember. At times it can be as simple as a single personality trait is enlarged for a time. And I second xueli's advice. We know some basics here, but that's really as far as our knowledge can go. We won't be able to pinpoint the differences between things like DID and Bi-Polar Disorder as well as a trained psychologist can.
