Lack of intelligence lately?

I look at how things were 6 months ago, then I look at how things are now and I'm really saddened. This site used to have some quite intelligent people, and it feels like it's been reduced to a lack of common sense and a mild sense of stupidity in most of the threads posted, especially those in the relationship thread. Are we being overran by children who obviously don't know what the fuck they're doing or are people just getting stupider? This isn't bashing on anybody in particular, but seriously people, can we at least have ONE intelligent discussion about something? My brain has been hurting for weeks now. :/

So you want an intelligent conversation about relationships, in a forum. First off, it will be derailed due to the excessive amount of trolls and try hards. Secondly, though I wish for a good conversation especially in the Relationship thread, at times it just seem tedious given the lack of open minded people. Lastly, yeah there has been an influx in teenagers recently though I don't have a problem with that I often wonder why they are here. Then I realize this place it more so to meet people that share a common interest with and you are not limited to your area, region or even country. This is just my person opinion about the current state of things.

Nothing has really changed and there are a few "intelligent " conversations floating around. Instead of complaining, why not start an "intelligent" conversation? I mean, I doubt if a little venting here will make any change. The big issue is a shit ton ofderailing. Also, people posting things in the wrong categories. If it says serious, make your conversation serious. There's nothing wrong with a little idiocy here, but as I said , it's annoying when it's clearly in the wrong category.

I agree with it being annoying in incorrect threads, but making a serious thread, as you said, always gets derailed, so I've lost intrest.

I've seen it happen allll~ the time on sites that start with a small user base. Then as more people show up and it becomes: We were such a close knit community. Everyone knew everyone else's name. Now it's full of plebes. It can also be seasonal. I'd wager adverts have been floating around this convention season or even just word of mouth. Rejoice at the influx of otaku as the bell curve reveals the average intelligence of our precious fandom! But now I'm just talking out of my plot after coming back from a ten hour workday. The above statement may not be factual!

Speaking of which, I never said I wanted a serious conversation about relationships, I said especially in the relationship thread.

I'm sorry if my conversation upset you since I kind of acted a little bit childish. Even though I came her to chat if my words ever offended you let me know.
